Karen’s call for people to send her stuff worked.
Soooo....I’m putting out a call for people to throw me a party. I’ve taken my birthdate off the facebook for now, and I’m probably not gonna put it back on until after Friday. I still don’t want to wade through “happy birthday” postings. But between now and then I’ll be putting in my status a call for local people to throw me a party.
Do it! I’m gonna be 40 on Friday. That’s sort of a big deal. Do it! Make it a “special day” for me. I could use one. Seriously.
ok, so you're not going to tell anyone when your birthday is, but you just told us that it is on Friday?
ReplyDeleteDear anonymous,
ReplyDeleteDid you read my original "Birthday schmirthday" blog?
I'm still keeping the date off facebook for the same reasons.
I can throw you a FaceBook party:)
ReplyDeleteWhile I appreciate the gesture, it's just not the same. Thanks, Larry.
ReplyDeleteI love you. I have felt the same way on my birthday for years. Nonetheless, I remembered your post about wanting a party from several days ago or something, and I thought I would check to see whether anybody near you found you as interesting and funny and intelligent and strange and worthy of their time and affection as we here in Montgomery do. I'm currently too poor to make it to Greensboro (hooray hernia repair!), but I'd throw you a party if I were there. May you have 40 more years of wondering, criticizing, contemplating, playing, singing, writing, joking, and cajoling the rest of us to be more and do more.
